We are Digital Arts Academy for the Deaf
Digital Arts Academy for the Deaf (DAAD) is an Edu-Tech product company focused on delivering accessible technical education to the 18 million Deaf people across India, many of whom are under the age of 30. The Deaf community faces numerous barriers to living full and productive lives. Only a few individuals manage to overcome these challenges and reach a position where they can contribute back to society. Ideally, this shouldn’t be the case.
Our vision is for every Deaf person to become a net contributor to the world around them. However, a major roadblock to achieving this vision is the lack of qualified educational resources specifically designed for the Deaf community. This gap is particularly evident in resources related to Information Technology (IT).
We aim to bridge this divide by offering IT courses in Indian Sign Language (ISL). Educational programs in ISL significantly lower entry barriers for Deaf youth, making technical education more accessible than ever before.
In our context, "qualified resources" refer to any educational materials available in Indian Sign Language (ISL).

Remya Raj
Remya Raj envisioned the Digital Arts Academy for the Deaf as a solution to the challenges she faced while pursuing technical education. Despite being a BA Economics (Honors) graduate, she struggled to obtain even a basic diploma in technical education. Together with her team, she has been working on a solution to make it easier for Deaf individuals to acquire IT skills and secure employment.
